Vibrant Digital Art with Maximalist Energy
Athene Fritsch is a Swedish digital artist based in Panama whose work radiates colour, spontaneity, and a refusal to play it safe. Her Kuriosis collection includes abstract compositions like Crimson Simplicity and Silent Moon Guardian alongside expressive animal portraits such as Sketch of a Bulldog and Stylized Black Dog. Working entirely with digital tools, she builds layered, textured surfaces that feel handmade despite their digital origin — brushstrokes overlap, colour fields collide, and unexpected details emerge on closer inspection.
Her maximalist approach is deliberate, not chaotic. Each piece balances intensity with composition — bold reds sit against muted backgrounds, gestural marks are anchored by structural elements, and even the most energetic works maintain a clear focal point. The animal pieces carry a different register: looser, more playful, with a sketched quality that gives them character. Together, the collection offers a range from contemplative abstraction to lighthearted figurative work, united by Fritsch's distinctive use of colour as a primary expressive tool. Her Swedish roots and tropical surroundings both find their way into the palette — Nordic coolness collides with equatorial warmth.
Print and Canvas Formats
Athene Fritsch's work is available on 225g matte fine art paper and 400g cotton canvas. Paper prints capture the detail and layering in her digital compositions with sharp precision — the matte surface brings out the textural contrasts between smooth colour fields and gestural marks. Sizes range from A3 through 50x70 cm, 70x100 cm, to A0. Framing options include oak, black, and walnut brown. Her abstract work benefits particularly from black frames, which contain the bold colour and add graphic definition.
Canvas prints on stretcher bars bring a tactile dimension that suits her textured, painterly aesthetic — the cotton weave adds physical depth to digitally created surfaces, making each print feel closer to an original painting. Canvas is available in 30x40 cm, 50x70 cm, and 70x100 cm, with optional floating frames for added depth. The 5mm shadow gap of a floating frame gives the more intense abstract pieces room to breathe on the wall.
