The Father of Modern Sculpture
Auguste Rodin (1840-1917) was a French sculptor who fundamentally changed what sculpture could express about the human condition. Rejected three times from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, he went on to create some of the most recognised works in art history — The Thinker, The Kiss, The Gates of Hell. His bronzes broke with academic tradition through raw emotional intensity and textured, almost unfinished surfaces that gave his figures an unprecedented sense of life.
At Kuriosis, we produce Auguste Rodin art prints and canvas prints in our Berlin studio using archival pigment inks rated for over 100 years. Rodin's sculptural works are available as fine art prints on 225g museum-grade paper in sizes from A3 to A0, and as canvas prints on 400g cotton canvas from 30x40 cm to 70x100 cm. Frame options include oak, black, and walnut brown.

Rodin's works translate remarkably well to print. The dramatic play of light and shadow across his textured bronze surfaces creates images with real visual depth — particularly effective on canvas, where the surface texture adds another tactile dimension. His drawings and sketches, meanwhile, reveal the fluid line work behind the monumental bronzes and print beautifully on fine art paper.
