The Visual World of CATS AND DOTZ

CATS AND DOTZ is the work of Ioana, a self-taught illustrator from Bucharest whose art moves freely between styles — from Bauhaus-influenced geometric florals to Japanese-inspired figurative pieces. What holds the collection together is a strong graphic sensibility and bold use of colour. These are not quiet prints. They carry personality and visual confidence without tipping into clutter.

The Bauhaus - Three Sunflowers print channels mid-century modernist design with its flat planes and structured composition, while Geisha draws from a completely different tradition — layered, ornamental, and richly detailed. Lilies and Three Poppies sit somewhere in between: floral subjects rendered with graphic clarity and vivid colour fields. This range gives the collection a versatility that works well for buyers who want prints with character but don't want to commit to a single aesthetic. If you enjoy expressive illustration, this pairs well with other work in our contemporary artists programme or alongside Japanese art prints for a cross-cultural gallery wall.

Print Formats and Materials

Every CATS AND DOTZ print is produced in our Berlin studio using archival pigment inks with 100+ years of colour fastness. Fine art prints are made on 225g matte fine art paper — a stock that holds vivid colour and crisp linework equally well. Paper sizes run from A3 through 50x70cm and 70x100cm up to A0, so you can go compact or go large depending on your wall.

Canvas prints use 400g cotton with a textured surface that brings physical depth to the bolder compositions. Canvas is available in 30x40cm, 50x70cm, and 70x100cm, stretched over a solid wood frame. Add a floating frame with a 5mm shadow gap for a gallery-quality presentation.

For paper prints, framing options are oak, black, and walnut brown. Black frames sharpen the contrast on Bauhaus-style pieces; oak adds warmth to the more organic florals; walnut brown works as a versatile middle ground. All frames are handmade to order in Berlin.

Styling These Prints

CATS AND DOTZ prints make strong single statements — hang the Geisha as a focal point in a hallway, or use Three Sunflowers to anchor a living room wall. They also work in pairs: a Bauhaus piece alongside a floral creates a deliberate contrast that feels curated rather than random.

For collectors drawn to bold colour and graphic illustration, this collection sits well next to flower and botanical prints or art with a vintage edge. The graphic clarity keeps things modern even when the subjects lean traditional.
