New Design & Illustration

Graphic design, illustration, and visual storytelling — from bold typographic compositions to detailed hand-drawn work. This collection brings together contemporary artists who treat the print itself as the primary medium, not a reproduction of something else.

What Sets This Collection Apart

Design and illustration prints occupy a different space from fine art reproductions. The work in this collection was made for print — conceived as flat compositions, designed with graphic impact in mind, and produced by artists who think in terms of colour separation, visual weight, and typographic balance. The result is work that reads immediately on a wall, with the directness and confidence of poster design.

The range covers graphic illustration, retro-inspired design, contemporary pattern work, and typographic compositions. Artists like Jazzberry Blue bring a geometric, colour-driven approach. Alice Straker and Susan Black work with bold, saturated palettes and playful subjects. Kubistika and Dina Dankers push toward atmospheric, painterly territory while retaining the graphic clarity that defines illustration at its best.

What holds the collection together is intentionality — every piece was designed to communicate visually, not to document a brushstroke or preserve a historical original.

Choosing the Right Format

Fine art paper is the default choice for design and illustration work. The smooth matte surface preserves the clean edges, flat colour fields, and typographic detail that define graphic art. Paper prints are available in A3, 50×70cm, 70×100cm, and A0, with oak, black, or walnut brown frames.

For illustration work with more painterly texture — atmospheric landscapes, watercolour-influenced compositions — canvas adds warmth and depth. Canvas prints come in 30×40cm, 50×70cm, and 70×100cm, with an optional floating frame.

Black frames sharpen the graphic quality. Natural oak suits the warmer, more organic illustrations. A bold illustration at 70×100cm or A0 can carry a wall with the same visual authority as a classic painting — often with more personality.

Pairing Design and Illustration Prints

The graphic confidence of illustration prints makes them natural companions for our modern poster collection, where clean composition and bold colour overlap. For a more eclectic wall, mix illustration work with pieces from our vintage poster collection — the design lineage is direct, and the tonal contrast between contemporary and mid-century graphic work creates visual tension that keeps a grouping interesting.

For rooms with a single dominant piece, a large-format illustration print pairs well with a quieter botanical or abstract work as a secondary element — the contrast in visual register prevents the arrangement from feeling one-note.

All prints are produced in our Berlin studio using archival pigment inks rated for 100+ years.
