Nouvelles toiles japonaises

What's in this collection

Recently added Japanese canvas prints, spanning classic woodblock-style landscapes and nature studies. The selection includes Road to Nikko by Hasui, Mount Fuji from Lake Yamanaka by Takahashi Shōtei, Nenokuchi Lake by Hasui, and Japanese Azaleas by Ogawa Kazumasa, work rooted in the shin-hanga and nature-print tradition of muted colour and quiet composition.

Why canvas for Japanese landscape prints

These prints rely on soft gradients, water, sky, mist over mountains, that canvas renders with more depth than a flat matte paper finish. The woven texture also suits the restrained, natural palettes typical of this style, tying the print's surface to its subject matter rather than competing with it.

Building a Japandi-style wall

A single Hasui or Kazumasa piece works well as a quiet focal point in a bedroom or living room, especially against plain wood tones or neutral walls. If you want to build a themed wall, pairing two or three prints from this collection in the same size keeps the muted palette consistent and avoids visual clutter. As a new-arrivals collection, it's updated regularly, so it's worth returning to if you're assembling a larger set of Japanese-style canvas prints over time.
