George Cochran Lambdin (1830–1896) was an American painter from Pittsburgh who trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts before turning, later in life, to painting flowers. Working from the rose garden at his home in Germantown, Philadelphia, he became known for upright sprays of roses set against dark backdrops, and is considered the first American artist to specialize in the subject.
