What a Floating Frame Does for Your Canvas Print

A standard canvas print sits on a stretcher bar with exposed edges. A floating frame changes that entirely. It wraps around the canvas with a consistent 5mm gap between the artwork and the frame — the canvas appears to hover inside the border. This shadow gap is what gives the piece a gallery-quality look without glass, glazing, or matting getting in the way.

Black adds contrast and sharpens the boundaries of the artwork. It suits bold compositions, high-contrast pieces, and anything with a modern or graphic character. Black floating frames also tend to recede against dark walls, putting the focus entirely on the canvas.

Floating frames are available for all three canvas sizes: 30x40cm, 50x70cm, and 70x100cm. Larger formats benefit the most — the shadow gap becomes a visible design element rather than a subtle detail.

For style, floating frames suit artwork where texture matters. Impressionist brushwork, abstract compositions, and vintage illustrations all gain depth when the canvas texture is visible and framed with that clean gap.
