Nieuwe Japanse Kunstdrukken & Posters

The Japandi aesthetic in this collection

This collection pairs recent additions with a consistent visual language, muted natural tones, restrained composition, and subjects drawn largely from Japanese art history, including pieces like 7 Birds by Korin and Hot Springs of Shuzenji by Kasamatsu Shirô. If you're decorating around a Japandi or Scandinavian-Japanese interior, this is the fastest way to browse pieces that already share a consistent palette and mood rather than hunting across the full catalogue.

Sizing and framing for a Japandi wall

These prints tend to work best with restraint rather than density, a single well-placed piece, or a small grouping of two to three, suits the aesthetic more than a packed gallery wall. Oak or light wood frames are the natural pairing here, they echo the warm, natural material language the Japandi style is built around, while a black frame can work for a single graphic piece if you want more contrast. Mid to large sizes (50x70cm and up) let the quiet, spacious compositions in this collection actually breathe on the wall, since many of these pieces use negative space deliberately.

Where these prints work in a room

Living rooms, bedrooms, and entryways with a pared-back palette (whites, warm woods, muted greens) are the most natural fit for this collection. Because the subjects range from cranes and birds to landscape and hot spring scenes, you can build a themed pairing (two nature-focused pieces) or mix in a single Japandi print alongside existing neutral decor as an accent rather than the centrepiece. Paper posters keep the fine detail in pieces like the crane and bird illustrations sharp, while canvas can add warmth to the more landscape-oriented pieces if you want a softer, more textured finish.

Every print is produced to order in our Berlin studio using archival pigment inks on either paper or heavyweight cotton canvas, so the muted, natural colour palette that defines this style prints accurately rather than shifting toward oversaturation. New pieces are added to this collection regularly, so it's worth checking back if you're building out a room over time rather than furnishing it all at once.

If you're starting a Japandi-style room from scratch, a good approach is to pick one print from this collection first and let its dominant tones (whether that's a warm sand colour or a soft sage green) set the palette for the rest of the room, rather than choosing wall art last. Frame choice matters more here than in busier styles, since the frame is one of the few visible contrasts against an otherwise quiet room, so oak, ash, or a simple black frame tend to work better than anything ornate.
