Introducing

Alphonse Mucha

Alphonse Mucha was a Czech artist and designer best known for his role in popularizing the Art Nouveau movement. His iconic posters depict women, often surrounded by floral motifs, flowing lines and intricate backgrounds.

Did you know, Mucha designed the first Czech national stamps and currency after the split of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1917. He often did this work for free or only to cover the material costs, as a way for him to express his patriotism through his art.
