The Surrealist Posters of Bartosz Walat

Bartosz Walat works under the name Muskam, producing posters that sit at the junction of surrealism and graphic art. Based in Warsaw, his visual language is unmistakable — saturated colour fields, unexpected compositions, and a sense of narrative that never fully resolves. Pieces like Ufo, Trip, and Traveler pull viewers into scenes that feel simultaneously familiar and otherworldly. There is a deliberate decadence to his palette — rich purples, deep blues, electric oranges — that gives each work a presence that reads immediately on a wall.

With over 20 prints in this collection, Walat offers one of the most varied bodies of work among our contemporary artists. Whether the mood is contemplative (Introvert) or adventurous (Camper), the visual quality remains consistent: strong graphic bones, confident colour choices, and imagery that rewards a second look. His motto — choosing between more sleep or more art — hints at the restless creative energy behind each piece. The work never settles into a single register, moving between introspective portraits and expansive, almost cinematic landscapes.

Print Options and Framing

All Bartosz Walat prints are available on 225g matte fine art paper in A3, 50x70 cm, 70x100 cm, and A0. The matte surface suits his flat colour fields and sharp graphic lines, delivering accurate saturation without glare. Frame options include oak, black, and walnut brown. Black frames are a natural match for the intensity of his palette, creating a clean border that lets the colour do the talking. Oak softens the overall effect and works well for pieces with warmer undertones.

Canvas prints are also available in 30x40 cm, 50x70 cm, and 70x100 cm. The canvas texture adds a tactile dimension to his already richly layered compositions, giving the flat colour fields a physical depth they gain from the woven surface. An optional floating frame provides a gallery finish with a 5mm shadow gap, letting the canvas edge remain visible for a more considered presentation.

Works Well With

Walat's surrealist energy pairs naturally with other bold voices in the contemporary artists collection. For a cohesive gallery wall, consider combining his work with prints from our colourful art prints or modern art prints collections, where graphic confidence and vivid palettes are common threads. His dreamlike compositions also contrast interestingly with more grounded, representational work — placing a Walat piece alongside a botanical or architectural print creates tension that keeps a wall engaging.

All prints are produced in our Berlin studio using archival pigment inks rated for 100+ years.
