Luca di Napoli – Surreal Illustration Prints

Luca di Napoli is an Italian illustrator with a biography that matches the eclecticism of his work: fine art training in Florence, animation studies at ENSAD Paris, a studio practice split between Paris and a 15th-century house in the French countryside. His paintings blend vivid colour with dark humour in a way that feels both classically grounded and genuinely strange.

The work is organised into conceptual series — each body of work exploring a different idea through multiple illustrations that circle the same subject from different angles. This approach gives each individual piece a depth it would not have in isolation: you sense that it belongs to a larger conversation, even if you encounter it alone on a wall. The characters are bizarre, the compositions surreal, but the visual craft is confident and precise.

Format and Framing

Di Napoli's vivid colour palette and detailed illustrative work prints well on fine art paper — the 225g matte surface preserves the precise linework and the full intensity of his saturated palette. Paper prints are available in A3, 50×70 cm, 70×100 cm, and A0. Oak frames add warmth; black frames give the work a gallery edge that suits its conceptual ambitions.

Canvas brings physical presence and a slight textural warmth that complements the painterly character of the work — the 400g cotton surface echoes the studio quality of original illustration. Canvas prints are available in 30×40 cm, 50×70 cm, and 70×100 cm, with an optional floating frame.
