What a floating frame does

A floating frame wraps around a stretched canvas print with a visible gap between the canvas edge and the frame's inner border, so the print appears to float inside it rather than sit flush like a traditional picture frame. It is built specifically for canvas, not paper, since it relies on the depth of a stretched canvas to create that gap. The result reads closer to a gallery-mounted piece than a framed poster.

Choosing oak, black, or brown

The three finishes change how much the frame competes with the print itself. Oak keeps things light and lets the canvas colours carry the wall, a good match for botanical or landscape work. Black adds contrast and structure, useful for abstract or graphic pieces where you want a defined edge. Brown sits in between, warmer than black without the paleness of oak, and tends to suit vintage or portrait subjects.

Fit and installation

Floating frames are sized to match our stretched canvas dimensions exactly, so order the frame in the same size as the canvas print it's going around. They arrive assembled with the canvas already fitted and wall hardware included, ready to hang straight out of the box. No additional glass or backing is needed since the canvas itself is the finished surface.
