Expressive Oil Portraits from Stockholm
Caroline Roberts is a Stockholm-based painter and illustrator known for expressive oil portraits of children and figures. Her work carries a blend of charm, curiosity, and subtle depth — art that invites a second look. A graduate of the Colorado Institute of Art in Denver, Roberts has exhibited widely and is represented by Artifact Projects in New York. Her work has received multiple awards, including a grant from the Association of Swedish Illustrators.
At Kuriosis, we produce Caroline Roberts art prints and canvas prints in our Berlin studio using archival pigment inks rated for over 100 years. Her oil portraits are available as fine art prints on 225g museum-grade paper in sizes from A3 to A0, and as canvas prints on 400g cotton canvas from 30x40 cm to 70x100 cm. Frame options include oak, black, and walnut brown.
Portraiture with Character
Roberts' figures feel alive in a way that goes beyond technical skill. Her portraits — "Woman with Magpie," "Woman with Cat," "Lady Chic" — each tell a quiet story through expression, posture, and carefully chosen companions. The loose, confident brushwork of oil painting translates particularly well to canvas prints, where the surface texture adds a tactile quality close to the original medium.
