What Defines City Art's Work

City Art is a contemporary artist whose work sits at the intersection of graphic design and natural observation. Her compositions take animal subjects — striped birds, abstract cats, tropical flamingos, horses — and render them through a visual language of bold pattern, flat colour fields, and geometric structure. The result is work that feels both decorative and precise, the animals recognisable but translated into graphic form.

Striped Bird Pair demonstrates the signature approach — the bird subjects are observed with care but expressed through repeating patterns and confident colour blocks. Abstract Black Cats reduces feline form to its essential curves against a dark ground. Tropic Trio brings tropical energy through layered composition and warm colour, while Minimal Fish Study takes the opposite approach — spare, reduced, with the graphic clarity of a well-made logo.

What ties the collection together is the consistent balance between organic subject and geometric treatment. These are not naturalistic illustrations — they are graphic interpretations where the pattern is as important as the subject.

Choosing the Right Format

Fine art paper is the natural choice for City Art's graphic compositions — the crisp edges, flat colour fields, and precise pattern work require a smooth matte surface where every line reads with clarity. Paper prints are available in A3, 50x70cm, 70x100cm, and A0, with oak, black, or walnut brown frames. Black frames suit the more graphic, high-contrast compositions; oak adds warmth to the tropical palette pieces.

On canvas, the layered colour and pattern work gain additional warmth and textural depth. Canvas prints come in 30x40cm, 50x70cm, and 70x100cm, with an optional floating frame.
