Susan Black is a Canadian artist based in Nova Scotia whose work celebrates the richness of the natural world. Her floral portraits and still lifes are built from layered lines, bold colour fields, and intricate pattern work — watercolour, acrylic gouache, collage, and digital detail combined into compositions that feel generous and alive. The result is botanical art with real visual energy, far from the quiet restraint the genre sometimes defaults to.

Printing Susan Black's Work

Black's layered compositions rely on accurate colour saturation and clean separation between overlapping elements. We print on 225g matte fine art paper, which holds fine line detail and delivers consistent colour across the full tonal range. For pieces where warmth and texture matter, 400g cotton canvas adds a tactile dimension that suits her painterly approach. All prints use archival pigment inks produced in our Berlin studio.
