About Taudalpoi's Digital Art
Taudalpoi is a Norwegian artist working at the intersection of digital collage, 3D rendering, and retro-futuristic illustration. His compositions construct surreal worlds that feel simultaneously nostalgic and otherworldly — astronauts adrift in impossible spaces, optical illusions that fold architecture in on itself, landscapes that borrow from 1960s space-age optimism and reprocess it through a contemporary digital lens. The colour palettes are vivid and carefully calibrated, giving each piece an immediately recognisable visual signature.
What makes Taudalpoi's work compelling is the tension between the familiar and the impossible. Human figures appear in recognisable poses — exploring, reaching, contemplating — but the environments around them defy physics and logic. This creates compositions that reward extended viewing: the longer you look, the more visual layers reveal themselves. The retro-futuristic aesthetic draws on mid-century illustration, vintage science fiction book covers, and early space programme imagery, but the digital technique is thoroughly modern. Choosing the Right Format
Taudalpoi's digitally rendered compositions have crisp edges and saturated colours that translate powerfully to both formats. Fine art paper prints in A3, 50x70cm, 70x100cm, and A0 deliver the sharpest detail — optical illusions and layered compositions benefit from the precision of the 225g matte paper, where every geometric edge and colour gradient reads cleanly. Black frames suit the futuristic aesthetic and add graphic contrast; oak frames introduce a warmer counterpoint to the digital precision. Canvas prints in 30x40cm, 50x70cm, and 70x100cm add a tactile surface texture that softens the digital sharpness slightly, giving the work a more painterly quality on the wall. The 400g cotton canvas creates physical depth that enhances the already layered compositions. An optional floating frame provides a gallery-quality shadow gap.
Displaying Surreal Art
Taudalpoi's prints are natural conversation starters — the surreal content invites interpretation and the vivid colours draw attention. They work well as standalone statement pieces in living rooms, home offices, and creative studios. For a curated gallery wall, pair with other contemporary artists from our collection — Tom Blood's surreal compositions share a similar dreamlike quality, while Retrodrome's vintage-inspired graphic work complements the retro-futuristic aesthetic.
All prints are produced in our Berlin studio using archival pigment inks rated for 100+ years.
